In May of 2019, North Central Behavioral Health Systems (NCBHS), and local area healthcare organizations were awarded a federal Rural Opioid Response Planning grant from the Federal Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) for Bureau County, Putnam Coutny, LaSalle County and the City of Henry.
Through this grant, our consortium members will help to organize community input in assessing needs; identifying currently available services; and in developing a plan of what might be added in our communities to prevent use, treat, and sustain recovery for those suffering from addiction to Opioids and other substances. It is our hope that the planning grant will help in securing other federal and state grants to then implement and fund needed services.
The planning grant, which will help secure other federal and state grants, is for a one year period and will be administered by NCBHS in collaboration with other consortium members that include representatives of the Bureau, Putnam & Marshall County Health Department, LaSalle County Health Department, Perry Memorial Hospital, St. Margaret’s Hospital, Illinois Valley Community Hospital, Gateway Services, Inc. Open Doors Community Counseling Program, and Community Partners Against Substance Abuse (CPASA).
We need YOUR help in addressing the opioid epidemic in our communities. Join us for a town hall meeting in your area:
- Bureau County Thursday September 19th @ The Bureau County Metro Center (837 Park Ave W, Princeton) @ 6pm
Refreshments will be provided.
We are always encouraging feedback from our community. If you have any comments, suggestions or questions, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
