As we are faced with the unprecedented COVID-19 (Coronavirus) pandemic, North Central Behavioral Health Systems’ offices continue to remain open as we maintain our mission of providing mental health and substance use services to our communities. However, the risks of COVID-19 necessitate that we now utilize alternative methods of service delivery in order to limit exposure to the virus for our clients, staff and communities. Effective immediately, we are taking the following actions:
We have converted many of our services to telephone/telehealth-based modalities. Our individual counseling services, group therapy, and home-based community support services are being delivered to clients utilizing the telephone or telehealth when possible and appropriate for a client’s needs.
For clients continuing to receive in-person services in our offices or in their homes, we have built-in additional infection control screenings and other safeguards to ensure that the COVID-19 exposure risks to our clients, staff and the community at-large are minimized.
New clients requesting services, when possible, will be scheduled for an initial telephone assessment with follow-up services scheduled as warranted and based on need.
Clients who are receiving services in person, are required to wear a mask upon entry and follow specified safety procedures throughout the duration of their visit.
We continue to closely monitor the situation and will follow the guidance from our local health departments and state and federal authorities. As the situation continues to evolve, we will assist those needing services while taking precautions and modifying services to ensure we are limiting the exposure of COVID-19 to our clients, staff and our communities.
